Warsaddle

Warsaddle
- Price: $TBA
Black, brown and gold warsaddle, which is based on 15th Century Italian saddles used in mounted armoured combat. The bare tree saddle was made by Ed’s Medieval Saddlery in NZ, and the top leather and decorations were added by me at a later date. The tree is timber, with some internal steel reinforcement, and an external layer of fibreglass, which is painted black with gold decorations. I have use this saddle in joust and skill at arms displays. It has extensively been used for mounted combat training, horse archery, dressage, trail riding and other activities.
This saddle was made for Keldan, who is a stocky, broad-shouldered horse and with low whithers. Unfortunately, he has changed in shape and this saddle no longer fits him well, and it doesn’t suit any of my other horses, so it is sadly for sale.
The saddle comes without mounts. Aside from some marks from usage with armour, it is in very good condition and is ready to be used right away. The linen lined pure wool panels are still springy and perfect to use. The seat would suit an average sized rider.
